The Inner Child when neglected, becomes The Shadow. Like a child, it’s innocent, explorative, and playful yet stuck emotionally and developmentally at the age dismissal first occurs.

It clings to you. Denied the light so it’s darkened. Primal. Only able to escape its recessed reality in the moments when you remember your yearnings as a child. Yearnings for fun. For Creativity.

For freedom.

The moments when you’re triggered. Triggers tied to the wounding from your formative years until the shunned parts of you are recognized, loved. Ultimately setting The Shadow and your Inner Child free.

But what becomes of The Shadow if when seen, it’s rejected, detained, and forced into submission?
